Alice of Abergavenny
This piece is taken from the panel “Arrogant Trepass” The Normans landing at Bannow Strand.
Dermot Mac Murrough, King of Leinster, had his hopes fulfilled at last when in May 1169 a small band of 30 Knights and 360 Soldiers landed quietly on Bannon Strand in the south of Wexford.
This panel shows a series of incidents which laid the ground for the Normans coming. Alice of Abergavenny seeks revenge on her lover’s killer.
